MYSORE BONDA / ULUNDU BONDA
Mysore bonda - a popular Karnataka snack made with urad dal, rice flour and spices.

- ½ cup Urad dal
- 1 tbsp Rice flour
- 1 Green chilli (optional)
- 1 tsp Pepper corns slightly crushed
- Curry leaves few (chopped)
- Coconut pieces 1 handful
- Coriander leaves Few (chopped)
- Salt & Water as needed
Soak urad dal for an hour in required water.
Grind using very little water along with salt and green chilli (if using). Use ice water for grinding.
Now add the chopped coconut pieces, curry leaves, coriander leaves and slightly crushed peppercorns.
Mix well and make sure the batter is thick. If it is watery add little rice flour.
Now heat the kadai with oil and fry these bondas in batches in low to medium flame.
Fry till its golden brown. Remove and drain in a tissue paper.
Serve with coconut chutney.
Soak urad dal in refrigerator till you grind.
You can use ice water while grinding to make a fluffy batter.
Use less water while grinding. You may need around 1/4 cup or less.
Adding rice flour is optional but if the batter is loose, you can add it to make thick.
