To make Onam sadya easily, I follow pressure cooker method.
Soak rice ada in hot water for 30 minutes.
Grate 2 to 3 coconuts required for Payasam, Coconut milk, Avial, Thoran, Kootu curry based on your menu.
Pressure cook toor dal along with vegetables in a small container. Open and mix them well. Set aside.
Dry roast and pressure cook moong dal for parippu curry. Along with it, keep the chopped vegetables for thoran.
In another pressure cooker, flash cook vegetables for avial. i.e Pressure cook in high flame for one whistle.
Soak rice ada in
Make Puli inji, Paruppu curry, Thoran, Kootu curry, Avial.
Lastly prepare payasams as per your plan. Fry Papad, make pickle
Serve Onam sadya in proper serving order.
